Levee break

On Saturday the 26th a levee broke in Desoto Bend and is now flooding Desoto and areas east and north. Evacuations have been ordered for those areas around Desoto. Grover is closed from Hwy 30 south and Desoto Ave into the south end of the Refuge is closed. Also today the IDOT has closed Hwy 30 for 2 days to install trapbags to hopefully prevent floodwaters from closing hwy 30 for the rest of the summer. The Decauter bridge is also closed for now. For the next two days, the only way to cross into Nebraska from here is Sioux City or Omaha
