This past weekend Ryan ran in the Omaha Marathon. He ran a 1/2 marathon which is 21 km or a little over 13 miles. He did a great job, and it was worth all the training that he had done this summer. Barb & I went down to watch him. He stayed with Leah and she took him to the race site. We three caught up with him a couple of time during the race, and got pictures. He was also met at the finish line by a lovely quartet of ladies that are friends and trainers, and drove all the way from Columbus, NE. He finished 319 out of 1024 runners with a time of 1:54:53 WAY TO GO RYAN !!!!!!!
While we are on maps (and maps have always fascinated me) Browse to The Freesound Project and look at their Geotagged sounds. Click on one of the markers and then start the recording and hear the sounds of that spot. Have you tried Google Maps? I like it for finding directions and also for locating any businesses that you need and their comtact information. For instance, type in " Pizza near Missouri Valley IA" and you get a list with placemarks and contact info. Try the Satellite view to zoom in close to those places that have hi-res photos. Also check out the "street view" of some major cities, and it is like you are driving down the street. Whose house is this? I think that I have spelled Brittnay's name every way that you can, but here are my pictures of their fabulous wedding and reception. Our heartfelt thanks to Randy & Karna and the Smocks for a great time! I know, I should be putting up the pictures of Tyler & Brittney's wedding reciption, but I need to put captions on them first.......instead,to pass the time, check out the Blue Ball Machine......I like the music best. |
