How good are you at eyeballing lines and circles. This game will score your eyeballing skills and rate you against other players. Once again, a rather addicting game

A malapropism (also called a Dogberryism) is the substitution of an incorrect word for a word with a similar sound, usually to comic effect. See Wikipedia's site for examples of famous and infamous malaprops by Norm Crosby,Yogi Berra and others.Funny!!

Periodic Elements Song & Flash

"The Elements" (1959) is a song by musical humorist Tom Lehrer, which recites the names of all the chemical elements known at the time of writing, up to number 102, nobelium. The Flash animation is by Mike Stanfill. A cute little ditty that I heard about on NCIS.

A Pet's Ten Commandments

A PET'S TEN Commandments.........

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

~Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

You have to be careful when you are downloading files or programs from the internet. It is best to use a trusted site for your downloads. That is why I like Snapfiles.com   You can chose from thousands of programs ( paid or free...I like the free). To search the free programs that Snapfiles.com offers, just click on the "Freeware" tab in the top right and search for the most popular programs or search in the 100+ catagories that are below. When I am linking to programs that i thnk that you should have on your machine.....I will link to Snapfiles.com

Taskbar Shuffle

I know it has been a while again, but I hope to get you some new and handy programs and websites that I have found in the past couple of months.

This first one is for the power computer users that are on it all day and have a dozen or more windows open on your taskbar. If you are like me, you like to open your windows in the same order, so you know where they are on the taskbar. If you have to close one, or it locks up a program and you have to start it again.....it is all the way to the right of your taskbar. Windows won't let you reorder them, but I have found a nifty little program called Taskbar Shuffle that will let you drag your taskbar buttons to any order that you want. Why didn't Microsoft make it that way?

Will it blend?

This is one of the more offbeat sites that I have found in my wanderings through the web. They use a BlendTec blender and try to blend various objects...like golf balls  - Rubiks Cube - etc, etc. Kind of an entertaining site for a while, just to see what stuff looks like when it is blended! Will It blend?

Secunia for security

7/1/2008

I recently heard about Secunia.com and have found it very handy to use. It uses a free online scanner to scan your computer for any major programs that have security flaws and then gives you the site to download that latest version of that program. For instance, I found versions of Acrobat Reader and Adobe Flash player that were not up to date, and had security flaws. It also finds old versions of Java that are still on your machine. You should go to the control panel and "add/remove programs" to remove all of the Java programs except the latest one. Try it out and be up to date!

ARGGGGH! I hate that. If you are going to have a site that people visit regularly, you have to give them new and interesting content......and NOT every 2 months.

SORRY......... I'll be better

Jack and Eloise had their annual picnic on Father's Day, and a great time and great food was had by all. Pictures are HERE and a link is also on the Pictures and Albums page for your downloading pleasure.

Remote computing

Do you ever need to look up something on your home or work computer when you are on the road? Maybe that file you left at home that you need to e-mail to yourself...or just start a program or scan at work when you are at home? I have been using LOGMEIN for about a year now, and it works great. It is a free program, and all it takes is a small program download to the computer that you want to remote into, and when that computer is on, you can access it from any computer in the world. With the free version, you cannot do file transfers or remote printing, but if you need the file, you can just e-mail it to the computer that you are at, and print it there. You can access multiple computers over a secure session, so it is very handy if you have a parent or child that need computer help.......just log in and you are there!! This one gets 5 stars!
